God's Desire For Your Health

God fully desires for you to be healed and healthy !

If you have heard the expression "Jesus saves", you may have wondered what exactly it means.  Or, like many, you may have thought that Jesus saves us from eternal separation from God, which He definitely does, but there is much more to salvation than this.

"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. - John 3:17 NKJV

The Word of God uses the Greek word "sozo" to describe what Jesus saves us from.  Sozo in it's bible usage, means, "to save, deliver, protect, heal, preserve, make well, make whole".  For example, this same word, sozo is also used by Jesus to describe how heal healed a blind man.

Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road. - Mark 10:52 NKJV

We see consistently throughout the Gospels and teachings of the New Testament that the salvation Jesus gave His life for includes salvation from every disease, disorder, and infirmity of the body just as much as it includes spiritual and soul salvation.

And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there. - Matthew 19:2 NKJV

Jesus healed everyone who came to Him for healing without ever requiring anything from them.  In fact, healing is told in the bible as one of the primary callings upon the life of Jesus.

"how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. - Acts 10:38 NKJV

The bible says in many ways that sickness is the oppression of the devil but that Jesus reached out to people everywhere and healed them because God was with Him with the power to save.   God calls Jesus' work of healing everyone, "good" because He wants everyone to be freed from sickness.

In other writings, we will study bible passages which show that God, Himself, is our Healer, that Jesus gave His own life to make our healing possible, and that God offers you your healing as  a gift which you may freely receive from Him.
